Social Care TV Yearly Round Up – 2023

With another exciting year at SCTV HQ about to commence, we take a moment to look back at 2023 and reflect on some of the highlights of the year.

Over the course of the year we embraced many new initiatives in order to continue to deliver the highest quality courses and customer service you expect and deserve.

In line with our ethos of supporting and playing an active role in the wider health and social care community, we became a proud sponsor of the incredible Care Workers’ Charity in May.

The Care Workers’ Charity is an award-winning organisation led and staffed by former care workers.

Since 2020, The Care Workers’ Charity has supported over 8900 care workers across the UK with a total of £5 million in Crisis, Covid-19, Funeral and Mental Wellbeing and Health grants.

Supporting the charity signals our commitment to providing decent work opportunities in the UK across all regions and sectors and sends out the message to care workers that they are valued and supported.

Each year, we donate a set amount to The Care Workers’ Charity, supporting a more sustainable future for the UK social care workforce.

Throughout the year, we have also continued our ‘Care Worker of the Month’ award, receiving numerous examples of individual selflessness and kindness from carers across the UK each and every month. We were delighted to award 12 wonderful individuals and will continue to run this indefinitely. All previous winners can be viewed at: News and views - Care Worker of the Month - Social Care TV

Throughout 2023 we were incredibly grateful to have received recognition for our courses, firstly being announced as winner of the Business Training and Education Award in the BAUK Awards in May. After this, we became finalists at the Leaders in Care Awards and the Social Care Premier Supplier Awards, attending both ceremonies in October. We met many inspiring individuals from the sector at both ceremonies and it was a pleasure to attend both and support the sector as a whole.

In November we were delighted to be announced as a finalist in the Learning Excellence Awards 2024, and as the winner for ‘CPD Provider Of The Year’! In response to winning such a prestigious category our Managing Director, Patricia Von Sachsenburg said:

"We are thrilled to receive such prestigious recognition, reaffirming that SCTV delivers the highest quality training and services available to the health and social care sector.

At Social Care TV, Continuing Professional Development is at the very core of our company ethos.

Well done to our fellow finalists and to all those nominated.

This award is for every member of our hard-working, committed and talented team and for every one of our loyal customers and their unwavering dedication to learning and development.

Thank you!"

Our ‘News and Views’ page has been active throughout the year, with monthly articles that can be read at: News and views - Social Care TV

We have also added new ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’, ‘Awards and Accreditations’ and ‘Mission Statement and Core Values’ sections to our website. This can be viewed at: About Social Care TV - Social Care TV

Our development team have been hard at work and in October, we launched our highly anticipated new training matrix, with a traffic light system designed to make life as easy as possible for Managers using our LMS. We also launched bulk uploads – a feature that many of our larger customers have requested in recent years. Further features will roll out over the coming months.

As always, we have been busy with production throughout the year – releasing brand new ‘Information Governance’ and ‘Cyber Security’ courses in March, and recently completing our latest round of filming for 4 new courses to launch by April 2024.

As an online business, at SCTV we take Cyber Security very seriously and were delighted to have our Cyber Essentials accreditation renewed in December.

We were delighted to work with the Tribe Project during the course of the year providing SCTV training for their support providers. We are proud to support their mission and to provide training for their support providers.

We are very happy to have had a productive, inspiring and successful year and sincerely hope that we continued to make a meaningful contribution to the wellbeing of those that you cared for.

As we look ahead to 2024, we are excited to bring you several new products and features including more high-quality workbooks to accompany our courses – to be released throughout the year, further LMS developments, the launch of new courses, new website features and so much more. We also look forward to a continued focus on customer reviews and championing and supporting care workers throughout the year.
