Care Worker of the Month – April 2026

Many congratulations to our April Care Worker of the Month award winner – Kathleen Lavelle – nominated by her daughter and a colleague at Shared lives Walsall, Donna Lavelle.

Please find Donna's nomination story below:

“Mrs Kathleen Lavelle is self-employed and she has worked for Shared Lives for Walsall Council for 21 years and still looks after adults with special needs and disabilities at the grand age of 80 years of age.

She goes above and beyond with her level of care and has looked after two of the ladies for 21 and 20 years in her own home. She treats them like her own family. She has recently agreed a third placement for a gentleman with learning difficulties whose parents have recently died and needs caring for.

She has dedicated most of her life to caring for people and is still going strong at the age of 81 this August 2026.

She really is amazing.”
