Care Worker of the Month – July 2025

We are delighted to announce that our Care Worker of the Month award winner for July is Ainsleigh Gammack.

Ainsleigh GammackAinsleigh was nominated by Fiona Jones. Ainsleigh is Fiona's support/key worker and works with her every week and she is also the team coordinator for the Portlethen service within Real life Options.

Please find Fiona's nomination story below:

"When we had a lot of changes due to local care provisions services changes she managed to help me to advocate so that I could gain more hours so that I could still do my chosen activity and not miss out and that made such a big difference to my week as it meant I was not losing out and that I was enjoying my activity of swimming without missing out because of local time cuts to our support service.

When I was due to do travel training practice and our public transport did not turn up she took me in her own car so that meant I still got to do my activity. When I really needed away from our building she took me on a local outing to go and see her own horses and she let me get up close and personal with them and this improved my mental health, and it made it easier for me to cope when it was difficult situations at my house.

She is helping me to work through a ASDAN qualification so that I can develop my independence and upskill myself and at the end of it get a certificate without the stress of attending a local college. I don’t have access to a printer so she always grants me access to hers and makes sure that all of my files are printed and ready for when I need them. She always makes sure that I get the chance to contribute to my reviews and I get full input of all my monthly keywork meetings and she makes sure all of them are my own views before her own ones.

If something changes suddenly she is very good at offering nice solutions to the problems and that way I still get something nice and not miss out. I find her working style honest easy going and hard working and positive approaches to supporting me. Also even when she not supporting me she is very good at coming up with quick and easy to understand views to my questions which usually means that whatever was bothering me is instantly sorted out.

She has managed to help and support me to get most of my independence back and this has improved all of my mental heath a lot as a result of this I feel much better and happier. She has great timekeeping and is always keeping everything fitted into our short time support window."

Many heartfelt congratulations to Ainsleigh from all at SCTV and thank you so much from all of us for the incredible work you do.
