Care Worker of the Month – October 2024

Many Congratulations to our Care Worker of the Month for October – Sonia Clark!

Sonia is a Care Worker for Cornelius House in Chichester and was nominated by her colleague and Wellbeing Coordinator, Tracey Turner. Please find Tracey’s nomination story below:

“Sonia works at Cornelius House, a small care home in Fishbourne, Chichester, with 20 residents, and she exemplifies everything that makes a great carer. Kind, compassionate, and dedicated, Sonia consistently goes above and beyond for both residents and staff. She is deeply loved by everyone for her devotion and genuine care.

What sets Sonia apart is not just her remarkable work as a carer but her willingness to support wherever needed. Whether on duty or not, she steps in to assist the well-being department, always offering her help when it's needed most. Her sense of humour and cheerful spirit light up the home. You can tell when Sonia has been with a resident—their smiles and laughter say it all. She makes them feel special, whether it's through a fresh haircut, a lovely blow-dry, or helping the gentlemen with a perfect shave. She has a knack for making people feel uplifted and cared for.

When Sonia leads a group quiz, the room fills with laughter as she cheerfully stumbles over tricky words, creating joy for everyone. Her warmth and humility shine through, turning frowns into smiles effortlessly. Sonia’s generosity doesn’t stop there—she even steps into the kitchen when needed. Whether covering for the chef or managing meals during busy times, she prepares delicious meals and bakes cakes that bring back fond memories for the residents. Her meals are always devoured, and her nostalgic puddings remind everyone of home.

Sonia is honest, hard-working, and a true friend to all. She is an invaluable part of our Cornelius House family, loved by everyone she meets. Sonia truly deserves this nomination for all that she does. She is one of life’s beautiful people, and we are so fortunate to have her."
