Care Worker of the Month – May 2024

Many heartfelt congratulations to our Care Worker of the Month Award winner for May, Valerie Biggs, a Healthcare Assistant from Fig Tree House in Jersey.

Valerie was nominated by Allison Gregory, whose father she looked after. Please find Allison’s story below:

“I nominate Valerie Louise Biggs, HCA at Fig Tree House, St Helier Jersey.

Val treats all her residents with dignity and respect, on an individual basis, but what stands out is her gentleness and compassion always taking time to listen and solve problems for them, never judging and always trying to bring a little bit of sunshine into their lives with her great sense of humour and kind words and deeds.

She looked after my Dad who had cancer right till the end. He always said when Val was around his day was brighter and he forgot he was ill.

Val truly deserves Carer of the month because no matter what needs done around her ….she always looks and sees the person behind the illness or Infirmity. SHE CARES FROM HER HEART ❤️
