Care Worker of the Month – July 2023

It is the last Friday of the month which can mean only one thing here at SCTV HQ! It is time to announce our Care Worker of the Month Award winner, and this month we are delighted to announce that our winner is Kim Thorpe – a key worker from Cristal Care, Doncaster.

Cristal Care is a specialist residential service for adults with learning disability, autism and associated complex needs.

Kim was nominated by Suzy Smith. Please find Suzy’s story below:

“I would like to nominate Kim Thorpe Cristal Care, Doncaster, based at The Pleasance Edlington. Key worker to a young man with ASD.

Has a person centred approach taking into consideration the needs and wants of the person she supports, enabling him to reach his full potential.

She has recently organised a holiday to Butlins for him, taking into consideration transport accommodation and activities. The young man has an active interest in trains so booked his favourite mode of travel to his holiday destination.

After speaking with him today he said he had a fantastic time and wanted to stay longer.”

Many Congratulations Kim. Your person centred approach is truly inspirational, and we thank you for your dedication, for making such a difference to the lives of countless others and for all you do.
