Care Worker of the Month – January 2023

It's the last Friday of the month and time to announce our Care Worker of the Month Award winner for January!

We are delighted to announce that our winner is Donna Collins, a Care Worker from Brighter Future for Children, a children's residential home in Reading.

Many Congratulations Donna! You are an incredibly deserving winner and we are so happy for you.

Donna was nominated by Maurice Mahon – her Director at Brighter Future for Children, a children's residential home in Reading. Please find Maurice's story below:

"Hi Folks,

I would love to nominate Donna Collins as Care Worker of the month. In fact I would like to nominate her as Care Worker of the Year as she has an incredible big heart and never ceases to pull out all the stops in her care of the young people we accommodate in the residential children's home at Brighter Future for Children.

Donna is steadfast, diligent, reliable and has an immense ability to always keep her heart open in spite of all the trials and tribulations that she encounters. During her 3 years of employment, she has consistently steered her colleagues towards attending to the emotional needs of the children. She constantly looks beyond the challenging behaviour of the children to communicate with their inner child and she demonstrates a level of empathy I have never seen in all my 40 years of working in this field.

Donna is quiet and reserved but creates miracles on a daily basis without fuss and without the need for recognition. Donna has a gift that many strive to achieve but never do. I would sincerely love to see Donna's face if she was to achieve this award.
