About the Care Certificate course
The Care Certificate is an agreed set of standards that define the knowledge, skills and behaviours expected of specific job roles in the health and social care sectors.
It outlines the minimum standards that should be covered if you are 'new to care' and should form part of a robust induction programme. This induction course compiles all the necessary courses into one reduced cost induction pack.
We recommend that a new fulltime employee should complete the Care Certificate within 12 weeks of starting their new role. Skills for Care suggest that experience from pilot sites demonstrates this is feasible for new fulltime staff.
Although our Care Certificate online training is designed for new staff, it also offers opportunities for existing staff to refresh or improve their knowledge and skills.
This course bundle will:
- Develop the learner's theoretical knowledge as part of the care certificate requirements
- Support a career path in health and social care
- Provide a structured approach to achieving the care certificate
Upon successful completion of the Care Certificate bundle, learners will be awarded a certificate from Social Care TV showing individual scores for all courses. Employers issue the full Care Certificate once they are satisfied that all requirements of the Care Certificate have been fully achieved.

The Care Certificate
All health and social care workers new to care should be inducted according to the Care Certificate framework as part of a comprehensive induction program.
